In this paper I examine the issue of army supply through a settlement case that began in 1815. The grain transports of Jewish merchants Israel Lackenbacher and Gottlieb Mayer were connected with the supply of the Imperial-Royal Army, which was massed in the Italian theatre of operations during the War of the Sixth Coalition (1813–1814). In the course of this analysis, I will describe not only the supply transactions, but also the circumstances of its settlement. This will show the positional advantage of the Jewish merchants involved in supplying the army, but also the cooperation not only between the merchants but also between the county officials and the merchants, in their dealings with the army headquarters.
