A gyergyószentmiklósi örmény katolikus templomot körülvevő kőfal kapujába egy fagerenda van beépítve, amelyen egy latin felirat, valamint más, nagyon elmosódott jelek találhatók. A ma is kiolvasható latin felirat 1637- ben készült, a Ferenczi György plébános által alapított temető alapításának állít emléket. A fát 1748-ban helyezik be mai helyére. A gerenda már 1637-ben is másodlagos felhasználású, minden bizonnyal az ugyanott álló, 1624 és 1637 között régiségtől tönkrement fakápolnából emelik át. A tanulmány rekonstruálja a latin felirat pontos formáját, a jelek szétválogatásával megteremti az alatta levő felirat tanulmányozásának feltételét. Értelmezi a korábbi felirat egyik jelét, amely oldalra döntött kereszthez hasonlít, és átmegy az 1637-es évszámon: egy mesterjegyről van szó (valamint három más példát is felhoz a jel hasonló használatára). = A wooden beam is built into the gate of the stone wall that surrounds the Armenian Catholic Church in Gyergyószentmiklós (today: Gheorgheni, Romania), on which there is a Latin inscription and other, very blurred signs. The Latin inscription, which can still be read today, was made in 1637 and commemorates the foundation of the cemetery by priest György Ferenczi. The beam was placed in its current location in 1748. The beam was already in secondary use in 1637; it was certainly moved from the wooden chapel standing in the same place, which was destroyed because of antiquity between 1624 and 1637. The study reconstructs the exact form of the Latin inscription, and by sorting out the signs, it creates the conditions for studying the inscription underneath. It interprets one sign of the earlier inscriptions, which looks like a sideways cross and goes through the year-number 1637: it is a master mark (three other examples of similar use of the sign are also given).
