The present article deals with farewell letters written by 152 suicides in the Hungarian language. The examples are given in translation into English. The author of the article compares structure, grammar and content of these farewell letters with the general rules of letter writing and classifies them basing on the multiple-standpoint analysis. Key words: suicidal intention, suicide; farewell letter; suicidal communication; linguistic behaviour.
