This article’s purpose was to examine and analyze the Hungarian prison conditions. Furthermore, I designed an entirely new prison system: The Smart Prison. My research’s leading method was innovation, so I tried to discover our prison’s urgent problems by the aspect of architecture. The original aim was to create a new way of thinking, a complex, open minded and dynamic prison-concept. In the first place I gave an overall presentment of historical prison systems, and that I raised significant questions like how could we popularize the reintegration approach in prison architecture? So in all intents and purposes I tried to find the answer of what are coming genaration’s prisons like? Finally I was led to the conclusion that the controversy with innovation in prison architecture is not design nor implementation but society’s firm belief of harsh punishment. In my esteem these kind of retributions are unadmittable, that is why I urged a quick change.
