My research aims at investigating food industry in Southern Great Plain Region since the change of regime. The region’s agricultural talents are prominent in national destination, the agricultural employment rate is the highest as well and the food industry has had great importance in this area. In spite of the labor needs of the food industry lag behind the agricultural labor needs, food industry has an important economic and social role. The change of the regime and the economic policy environment isn’t favourable to the economic development of the region. The number of the enterprises is reduced and the sector has become more concentrated and its economic role has dropped in the recent period. However, the food industry remained one of the most important manufacturing industries in this area, as it still stands in the third place, after the chemical and engineering industry.
