Tartalmi leírás:
Research has shown that local food poverty reduction programmes have reached only a fraction of potential recipients and uncovered several reasons why those in need find access difficult. Here, through the example of a school-holiday meals provision, we examine the providers and what impairs their effectiveness to react to the problems of food-deprived children. The factors that emerged from interviews are as follows: an inappropriate perception of food poverty as a problem, the consequent inaccurate evaluation of need, and the consideration of parents’ ‘deservingness’.
