The author’s intention is to take the reader on a journey into the turbulent period of the Second World War, not through the usual military history approach, but through the genre of information and media history. There are many events or happenings that could be covered, but in this case we will focus on the representation of the Royal Hungarian Army’s „Fast” Corp in the war. In the constructive world of the media, we encounter a different picture than in the ego-documents or on the pages of military reports. Yet, their understanding is not negligible, as the media have an influence on their audience. It constructs the world view of the receptive viewer, and in extreme situations it can even result in a distorted world view. However, this essay cannot undertake to explore all levels of the media, and therefore arbitrarily focuses exclusively on the Hungarian World Newsreel.
