A tanulmány célja, hogy áttekintést nyújtson a public relations (PR) szakterületén tapasztalható magyar–angol kevert nyelvhasználat jelenségéről. A vizsgálat fókuszában az egyetemi oktatókra nehezedő szakmai és nyelvi elvárások állnak, különös tekintettel a nyelvi megfeleltetés kihívásaira a szervezeti kommunikáció oktatásában és kutatásában. Kiindulópontként a 2021-es PR-iparági jelentés szolgál, amely az utolsó átfogó, nyilvánosan elérhető hazai dokumentumként hiteles képet nyújt a szakma aktuális nyelv használati tendenciáiról, illetve a közönséghez szóló nyelvi gyakorlatokról. A tanulmány rámutat arra, hogy a tudományos igényű, ugyanakkor nyelvileg árnyalt kommunikáció mind az oktatók, mind a tudományos ismeretterjesztéssel foglalkozó szakemberek számára komoly dilemmákat vet fel. A teljes nyelvi megfeleltetés sok esetben lehetetlen, ugyanakkor a terminológia mechanikus átvétele, a fordítás teljes mellőzése sem kínál kielégítő megoldást. E kettősség nyelvhasználati és oktatásmódszertani vonatkozásainak feltárása révén a tanulmány a tudományos nyelvhasználat tudatosításához kíván hozzá járulni a nyelvi idegenség és alkalmazkodás kontextusában.
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the phenomenon of mixed Hungarian – English language use in the field of public relations (PR). The focus of the study is on the professional and linguistic expectations of university lecturers, with a special emphasis on the challenges of language matching in the teaching and research of organi sational communication. As a starting point, the PR Industry Report 2021 will be used as the last comprehensive, publicly available national document to provide a credible picture of current language use trends in the profession and language practices aimed at the public. The study shows that communicating in a scientifically demanding yet linguistically nuanced way poses serious dilemmas for both educators and practitioners of scientific communication. While full linguistic compliance is often impossible, the mechanical adoption of terminology and the complete absence of translation are not satisfactory solutions. By exploring the linguistic and methodological aspects of this dichotomy, the study aims to contribute to the awareness of scientific language use in the context of linguistic alienation and adaptation.
