A doktori értekezés arra a kérdéskörre kíván több tudományterület szempontjait
figyelembe véve választ találni, hogy melyek azok a jeltípusok, amelyek által Isten üzenete a
siket hívek számára is befogadhatóvá válik. A téma aktualitását egyrészt az adja, hogy olybá
tűnik, a Magyar Református Egyházban siketeknek felkínált lehetőségek és a hitüket
gyakorolni vágyó hallássérült személyekben felmerülő igények kevéssé találkoznak. Ezt
támasztja alá, hogy az egyetlen hazai református siket gyülekezet létszáma drasztikus
csökkenést mutat, míg az eredetileg református nem halló hívek jellemzően valamely más
felekezet által működtetett siketeknek szóló programjába kapcsolódnak be. Másrészt a siketek
hitéletére vonatkozó magyar nyelvű, és ezen belül református szakirodalom rendkívül
korlátozott mennyiségben áll rendelkezésre. / The doctoral thesis aims to find answers to the question of which types of signs make God's
message accessible to Deaf believers, taking into account the perspectives of several scientific fields.
The topic is relevant because it seems that the opportunities offered to deaf people in the Hungarian
Reformed Church do not meet the needs of hearing-impaired people who wish to practice their faith.
This is supported by the fact that the only one Reformed Deaf congregation in Hungary is
experiencing a drastic decline in membership, while Deaf believers who were originally Reformed,
typically join programs for the Deaf run by other denominations. On the other hand, there is an
extremely limited amount of resources written in Hungarian on the religious life of Deaf people.
