Directors and opinion shapers of the Soviet Republic of Hungary assumed that the formation would only be temporary in two aspects. On the one hand, they thought the dictatorship of the proletariat was only an interim political system or form on the road to communism, which they believed to be the ideal economic, social and political structure. On the other hand, they thought that the state they established was also a transitional one that the system of worldwide communism would replace at some point in the future. In order to progress towards this goal, they also established another state, which was also to be a temporary one, the Slovak Soviet Republic.
