This paper shows the simulation results of having a bidirectional Mode Division Multiplexing MDM system that can be used for In-building solutions in mobile networks. MDM is chosen to be the used multiplexing scheme where light modes were initially selected by using Spatial Laser Modulators SLM. Using SLMs can ensure the generation of the mode of choice and avoid the excitation of unwanted modes during the light propagation in the Few Mode Fiber FMF. The FMF core diameter was chosen to support two modes, one mode for the downlink and the other mode for the uplink. The proposed system reduces the complexity of the Remote Radio Unit RRU while assuring high-capacity transmission, thus reducing the RRU manufacturing cost and the overall OPEX/CAPEX assigned by the mobile operators for In-Building solutions and other mobile network applications.
