This research analyses the tweets and images that circulated on the internet during the pandemic in India to study the anti-Muslim discourse. The results and analysis demonstrate that on social media in India, there is a clear stigma and moral panic associated with the Muslim community as the primary carriers and spreaders of the Coronavirus. Moreover, this Islamophobic rhetoric is covertly linked to the prevalent Hindu nationalist ideology existing in the Indian political sphere today.
