Egy személy biztonságérzetét jelentősen befolyásolja környezete biztonsága, illetve az a tény, hogy ő maga mennyire érzi biztonságosnak azt a miliőt amelyben él, dolgozik, tanul. A biztonság a mindenki által elvárt legfontosabb szükségletek egyike, hasonlóan magas szintű elvárás, mint az étkezés vagy az egészség. A rendészeti szervek a civil, piaci szféra bevonásával képesek olyan elgondolások kutatására, megvalósítására, amelyek jelentős mértékben hozzájárulnak az egyén biztonságérzetének növeléséhez. Ha biztonságosak a határok, akkor biztonságos az ország, ha biztonságos az ország, akkor biztonságosak a települések, és ha biztonságos a település, akkor biztonságosak az egyes intézmények és azon felül az egyén is biztonságban érzi magát, és ez a logikai sorrend fordítva is igaz. A Biztonsági Technológiák Nemzeti Laboratórium létrejöttekor a Biztonságos Ország Biztonságos Határ alprojekt a fenti célok közül nevében foglaltaknak megfelelően a legnagyobb részt vállalta magára.
A person’s sense of security is significantly influenced by the security of his/her environment and the extent to which he or she feels secure in the environment in which he or she lives, works or studies. Safety is one of the most important needs that everyone expects, as much as food or health. Law enforcement agencies, with the involvement of the civil and market sectors, are able to explore and implement ideas that can make a significant contribution to increasing the individual’s sense of security. If the borders are secure, the country is secure, if the country is secure, the communities are secure and if the communities are secure, the institutions are secure and, in addition, the individual feels secure, and this logic also applies in reverse. When the National Laboratory for Security Technologies was set up, the Secure Country Secure Border sub-project took on the largest share of the above objectives, as stated in its name.
