Appetite for something new: The mobileapplication of the Katona József Library of Bács-Kiskun County Libraries have always been a flagship in keeping up with technological changes. Adapting to the latest challenges of the digital world, they are experimentingwith several of the ever-expanding range of virtual platforms. The Katona József Library of Bács-Kiskun County in Kecskemét is also trying toseize every opportunity to keep up with the latest trends. We are on Facebook,Instagram, have a YouTube channel and a moly.hu account.Though, a mobile app was still needed. Thanks to a few dedicated andenthusiastic librarians, we will be able to download our own custom-designedand developed app from the Google Play Store since the Autumn of 2021. Theapp was built using the Thunkable API, which was used to create the frameworkand structure of the app. And to create the content available in the app, weused a variety of online platforms and web applications specialised in creatinginteractive content/games.The publication will give a comprehensive overview of the steps of theimplementation, the applications and software used and our experiencesduring the work. Keywords: public library, application, mobile app, library app, innovationhttps://doi.org/10.31915/NWS.2022.5
