This study aimed to examine whether the visual prosody of infant-directed speech (IDS) and dog-directed speech (DDS) are distinct from adult-directed speech (ADS). We examined the video recordings of 42 parents containing the interaction with their own infant (IDS), their own family dog (DDS), and a female experimenter (ADS). Our results suggest that DDS resembles IDS in terms of visual prosody, while ADS is different from both, which is congruent with the already revealed acoustic similarities.
