Tartalmi leírás:
In this review, I focus on word learning with emphasis on the methodologies that have been used to study the different factors that support the early acquisition of nouns and verbs. Studies have demonstrated a noun-advantage in infants’ earliest vocabularies and there is extensive investigation on the challenges of learning verbs and why they appear later in development. I highlight the key points of the literature on word learning and discuss the most influential experimental procedures.
