The paper presents the organization and the work of the Department of Serbian Literature with South Slavic Literatures (Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade) at the end of the second decade of the 21st century. After reviewing some of the most important moments in the history of the Department, the paper elaborates on the content of the curriculum of undergraduate, master and doctoral academic studies, fields of scientific engagements of teachers and associates, student activities, perspectives of cooperation with other scientific and cultural institutions in the country and abroad, aspects of publishing goals. The paper concludes that, approaching a moment of celebrating 160 years since its founding, the Department has gone through a dynamic process of development and modernization that is in line with the progress of science and education in the world. By successfully participating in the realization of important scientific gatherings, especially the XVI International Congress of Slavists in 2018, members of the Department of Serbian Literature with South Slavic Literatures through their efforts and achievements confirmed that this unit within the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade is one of the unavoidablestrongholds of Slavic and comparative researches in the 21st century.
У тексту се представљају организација и рад Катедре за српску књижевност са јужнословенским књижевностима Филолошког факултета Универзитета у Београду на крају друге деценије XXI века. Након осврта на неке од важнијих тренутака из историје Катедре, приказује се садржај наставних програма и предмета основних, мастер и докторскихакадемских студија, поља научних ангажовања наставника и сарадника, активности студената, перспективе сарадње са другим установама науке и културе у земљи и иностранству, домети у издавачкој делатности. Закључује се да је, ближећи се тренутку обележавања сто шездесет година од свога оснивања, Катедра прошла кроз динамичан процес развоја и модернизације који је у складу са напретком науке и образовања у свету. Успешним учешћем у реализацији значајнихскупова, а посебно XVI међународног конгреса слависта 2018. године, чланови Катедре за српску књижевност са јужнословенским књижев ностима су залагањима и остварењима потврдили да је ова јединица у оквиру Филолошког факултета Универзитета у Београду једно од незаобилазних упоришта славистичких и компаративних истраживања и у XXI веку.
