Sándor Weöres’s poem entitled Songs from NaConxypan (Dalok NaConxypanból) evokes the universe of Na’Conxypan created by Lajos Gulácsy’s paintings and texts. What is the starting point of this dialogue, what are the connections between Weöres’s and Gulácsy’s art? In the first part of my study I examine the similarities and differences of the poet’s and the painter’s artistic attitudes, as well as how Gulácsy’s attitude can be interpreted/is reflected in the light of the Songs from NaConxypan. In the second part, in form of a close-reading of image and text, I will point out those stylistic features which Weöres’s poem grabs in Gulácsy’s works. In parallel with this viewpoint, the paper focuses on the question of medial differences, that is, how the common stylistic features appear in the other medium.
