Based on written documents from the turn of the 18/19th centuries and new, philological researches, present study inquires the reception and manuscripts discovered in the native land of the Transylvanianborn writer and translator, Kelemen Mikes. The paper gives special attention to a translation survived in two versions, A keresztnek király uttya (The Royal Route of the Cross) and a letter in manuscript – the first of the literal letters series Törökországi levelek (Letters from Turkey) – found in the Zágon Museum (Romania).
