Gives a review of the book fair, where 1585 publishers of 38 states participated, after having summarized the antecedents of the "Frankfurter Buchmesse", that can be traced back as far as the year 1574. Thematic set-up and objectives of the fair. Beview on the fair upon 25.000 m2 and the pavilion of the Hungarian Peoples' Republic. Analysis of the trade book information service of the Verlag Dokumentation der Technik, where information had been given on 4500 technical books according to 50 special subjects. Visitors of the pavilions could not only get the bibliographical data of the books interesting them, but at the same time could find the books on the site, too by the aid of a quick information list - multiplied by the Bank Xerox 2-al machine - wich showed the no. of pavilion and the place for exhibiting also besides giving the name of the exhibitor, and so the publication was at hand at the fair as well.
