Az MTA 2016. évi akadémikusválasztása azzal a meglepő eredménnyel zárult, hogy egyetlen nő sem került be az új akadémikusok közé. Ez az eredmény nagy felháborodást és aktív tudományos vitát váltott ki, majd pedig Nők a Kutatói Életpályán Elnöki Bizottság létrehozását eredményezte. Ezen fejleményeknek is tulajdonítható, hogy 2019-ben rendkívül magas számban kerültek nők az új akadémikusok közé. Tanulmányunk helyzetjelentést kíván adni a magyar nők tudományos életen belüli pozíciójának néhány sajátosságáról, a bizottsági munka hároméves folyamatának legfontosabb állomásairól, és az ennek nyomán végrehajtott konkrét lépésekről. Bár a kérdés rendkívül összetett, már az utolsó elnökválasztás tükrében is látható, hogy melyek azok az intézkedések, amelyek révén már viszonylag kis odafigyeléssel is mind a nők jelölésének folyamata, mind az akadémikussá válást megelőző nagydoktori fokozat megszerzése kiegyensúlyozottabbá és kiegyenlítettebbé válhatna. In 2016 at the General Assembly of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) not a single woman was elected to the members of the Academy. That created outrage and scientific dispute as well as resulted in the establishment of the Presidential Committee Facilitating Women’s Academic Advancement at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Thanks to these developments at the elections of 2019 an unprecedented high number of women were elected to the members of the Academy. Our paper wishes to report progress describing some special features of Hungarian women’s academic career, the results of the three years’ activities of the Committee and the concrete measures adopted on its motions. Although the problem is extraordinarily complicated, the results of the last election to the membership of HAS showed that due to some solicitude what measures might contribute to more balanced and more equal nominations to the membership of the Academy, and to promote women in obtaining the scientific title of the Doctor of HAS as a stage preceding becoming a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
