Umbrageocoris gen. nov. and its types species Umbrageocoris kondorosyi sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Geocoridae) is now described from New Guinea. The placement of the genus within the subfamily Geocorinae is discussed.
