Tartalmi leírás:
József Somogyi was born at the end of the 19th century, a person of exceptional capabilities, working ability and character, who was in essence a conservative Christian thinker, who was sub specie aeternitatis, he wished to analyze the specific questions of philosophy, ethics and pedagogy. He rebelled against both fascism and Bolshevism, cared own intellectual autonomy. His whole life-work was underlined by the conviction that the most important virtue were a willingness and ability of independent thought and a clear critical view, than be mostly characterised by what fashion we do not follow. His independent way of thinking and Christian world of values were disliked by many people. He did not receive the head of the philosophy department of Péter Pázmány University and his nomination to become member of the Scientific Academy was twice rejected. After the Second World War (in essence until 1989) he did not even receive as much appreciation as György Bartók or József Halasy-Nagy: he became a completely outcast and a forgotten philosopher. After 1945 he was invited to teach in America, but he stayed in Szeged, he taught crowd of classes, while he wrote about twenty books. The oeuvre of Somogyi was many-sided: that extended from phenomenology altogether eugenica to questions of intiutio and social-philosophy. This paper emphasizes Somogyi’s community idea, correctly his research of question of relation between community and individual. Somogyi returned to the Aristotle’s fundamentals then he continued to say that they would be valid for today.
