A dolgozat egy olyan értelmezési utat kívánt megnyitni a Darvasi-próza olvasásához, amely nem elsősorban a történetkonstruálásra és -rehabilitációra épít, hanem a narráció mikéntjére, a narrátori szerepek, funkciók mozgására, egymáshoz való viszonyára. Mindez az egyes szövegek és a kötet egészének koherenciája felől döntő kérdés. Ugyanis nem a történet teremti meg önmaga egészlegességét, hanem a narrátori hang, a közvetett vagy közvetlen szereplői kommunikáció képezi meg a történetek közötti összetartó erőt. A szövegek retorikai célja és módozatai hasonlóan irányítják a narrációt, hozzájárulva ahhoz, hogy a Vándorló sírokat egybeolvassuk, a novellák egy koherens szövegvilág darabjait adják ki, és mint háromdimenziós puzzledarabok kapcsolódjanak egymáshoz, korábbi saját szövegvilágukhoz, illetve kínai, bibliai történetekhez, karakterekhez, hangulatokhoz. Hiszen gyakran erős hangulati leírásokkal találkozunk, amelyek jellegzetes vonását képezik a Darvasi-szövegek narrációjának. Mindig létezik egy felülíró, külső narrátor, aki megfigyel, leírja az elbeszélői környezetet, amelyben helyet foglal a narráció, esetleg egy első személyű narrátor is. Ez a felülről irányított narrátori funkció különböző retorikai céllal választja meg a történet szövegvilágon belüli alakulását. Ez hozza létre a többszörösen bennfoglalt narratívákat, dialogikus viszonyba kerülő történeteket, olykor polifonikus szövegvilágokat.

The paper tries to open up a way of interpretation in the reading of Darvasi’s prose which primarily does not rely on the construction and rehabilitation of the story but rather on the mode of narration, on the motion and interrelation of narratorial roles and functions. All these are decisive questions regarding the coherence of the particular texts as well as of the entirety of the volume itself. As it is not the story that creates its own entirety, instead, the narrative voice, the direct or indirect communication between the characters provide coherence among the stories. The rhetorical aim and modes of the texts guide the narration in a similar way, contributing to our reading together the Wandering Graves (Vándorló sírok), to the short stories’ forming part of a coherent textual universe, to their interconnectedness as three-dimensional puzzle pieces, to their connection to earlier own textual universes, to Chinese as well as Biblical stories, characters and atmospheres. We often encounter powerful descriptions of atmosphere, which is a characteristic feature of the narration of Darvasi’s texts. There is always an overwriting, external narrator who observes, describes the narratorial environment in which narration or occasionally a first-person narrator is placed. This narratorial function directed from above chooses the evolution of the story within the textual universe with various rhetorical purposes. This creates the multiply embedded narratives, the dialogical relations among stories and the sometimes polyphonic textual universes.
