Physician and scientist Christoph Jacob Trew (1695-1769) is regarded as one of the most important knowledgesteward and communicators of science during the eighteenth century in the German-speaking countries. Hefounded his professional commitment on his extensive correspondence and rich collection of letter (>19.000)that closely connected him and anchored in to the contemporary European world of scholars. This studypresents a short letter (1750) that was sent him from his former guest the well-known pharmacist TobiasMauksch (1727-1802) at Klausenburg (Cluj-Napoca in Romanian). Both men are introduced and the contentsof the letter are critically commented.
