A szakdolgozatom a kutyák fizioterápiáját és azon belül is a hidroterápiáját mutatja be, amely során röviden ismertetem a fizioterápia meghatározását, felosztását és módszereit. Részletesen ismertetem a hidroterápia célját, a víz szervezetre gyakorolt hatásait és, hogy milyen betegségek esetében indokoltak az ilyen terápiás kezelések. Bemutatom a kutyák számára készült, jelenleg Budapesten az egyetlen futópados hidroterápiás kezelési lehetőséget és annak folyamatát. Kutatásom a porckorongsérvvel műtött kutyák műtét utáni hidroterápiás kezelésének a hatékonyságát vizsgálta. A porckorongsérv kóroktanjának, tüneteinek, kórjelzésének, és terápiájának leírása után egy meghatározott időszakra vonatkozóan elemeztem azokat a porckorongsérvvel műtött kutyák rehabilitációját, amelyek hidroterápiás kezelésben részesültek. A vizsgálatom kimutatta a hidroterápiás rehabilitáció hatékonyságát a kontrollcsoporttal (hidroterápiában nem részesült) szemben.
My thesis is about the physical rehabilitation of dogs. It gives a short report on the definition, main issues and methods of physical therapy. It describes the goals of hydrotherapy in details, presents the effects of water on living organisms, and it gives a list of diseases the treatment of which can be completed by aquatic therapy. My thesis presents an underwater treadmill, which is the only one facility for canine aquatic therapy in Budapest at the moment. My research was on the effects of aquatic therapy in the post-operative rehabilitation of canine intervertebral disc disease. After describing the etiology, symptoms, diagnosis and therapy of the disease, my thesis analyses the rehabilitation of dogs that were trained by using this facility after their operation of intervertebral disc disease. The results of my examination show that aquatic therapy is effective when compared to a control group.
