Tartalmi leírás:
Clipping is a practical method to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). However, it introduces nonlinear distortion that can slow the convergence of iterative receivers. This paper investigates whether constellation mapping can improve the convergence of a Bussgang noise-cancellation (BNC) turbo receiver for clipped OFDM and evaluates its impact on system performance using an Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) analysis and Bit Error Rate (BER) simulations. The EXIT analysis shows that anti-Gray raises the detector transfer at moderate a priori information and opens a wider detector–decoder tunnel. Consistently, BER curves show lower BER for anti-Gray than for Gray after a few turbo iterations across the mid-SNR range. The results show that labelling alone can accelerate iterative convergence under clipping, offering a simple improvement path that requires no changes to the transmitter, code/decoder, or receiver architecture.
