Tartalmi leírás:
The legal framework and operation of sports policing in Hungary developed from the late Austro-Hungarian Monarchy (1880–1918) through the nation’s democratic transition (1989–2000), with the half-century of the communist period shaping Hungary’s economic and social development. The evolution of sports policing across eras and domains present challenges, institutional responses, and notable cases linked to sports events, facilities, law enforcement duties, especially the safety and security of football matches. Law enforcement institutions play a critical role in upholding public safety, enforcing laws, and preventing crimes. This role is especially critical in mass events such as sports fixtures, which attract thousands of spectators and pose heightened risks of violence, riots, or terrorism. Consequently, sports policing is indispensable for ensuring the safety, fairness, and integrity of sports events. As sports events gain increasing social and economic significance, ensuring safe and secure conduct has become a global priority.
